Lattafa Art of Nature II: Cardamom, Orange Blossom and Smoky Vanilla
Art of Nature II looks like a citrus scent on paper, with bergamot, mandarin and apple at the top, but it doesn’t stay one for long. A thread of frankincense runs under the citrus from the first spray. By the heart, cardamom and orange blossom are warming everything up, and the dry-down is a soft, smoky vanilla with guaiac wood and ambroxan. The spiced vanilla is what people remember. The Scent Profile
Top: bergamot, olibanum, mandarin and apple. The opening is bright and juicy, but not purely citrus. Olibanum (frankincense) adds a cool, resinous edge beneath the fruit, so the fragrance has depth from the start.
Heart: orange blossom, rose and cardamom. The heart is where it turns. Cardamom brings a green, aromatic spice. Orange blossom adds a soft floral sweetness, and rose rounds it off. Together they read warm and slightly powdery rather than fresh.
Base: vanilla, ambroxan, guaiac wood, cedarwood and musk. This is the signature stage. Vanilla gives sweetness, guaiac wood a dry, faintly smoky edge, ambroxan radiance and lift, and cedar and musk a clean frame. It’s sweet, but the smoke and wood keep it from turning into a dessert.
How It Compares
Lattafa lists Art of Nature II as its own composition and doesn’t name an inspiration. On Fragrantica, though, one comparison dominates the reviews: Parfums de Marly Althaïr, the cardamom-vanilla-guaiac fragrance from 2023. Reviewers often compare the two, and plenty say the resemblance is very close. We won’t turn that into a percentage. The shared DNA is clear from the notes: orange blossom, cardamom, vanilla, guaiac wood and ambroxan. Art of Nature II adds apple and mandarin on top, plus frankincense and rose, which several reviewers say makes it airier and fresher than some of the other Althaïr-style fragrances on the market. Liquid Brun by French Avenue also comes up as a close relative.

Art of Nature II Performance & When To Wear
We couldn’t read Fragrantica’s numerical vote tallies, so we won’t give an hour figure. In the written reviews, most people describe the performance as good to excellent. Several call the opening projection “nuclear” before it settles closer to the skin, and a smaller number find the longevity decent rather than exceptional.
It’s most at home in autumn, and it also works on cooler spring days and winter evenings. The citrus-frankincense opening makes it wearable in daylight, and the vanilla-guaiac base carries it into the evening. On a hot summer day the vanilla can feel heavy. Two to three sprays is plenty.
Who It’s For
Art of Nature II suits anyone who likes a spiced vanilla with some structure, sweet but not cake-like. If you’ve been curious about the Althaïr style but don’t want to pay designer prices to try it, this is an inexpensive way to find out whether cardamom and vanilla work for you. Lattafa and Fragrantica both list it as unisex, and it wears that way.
