Elyssia Scarlet opens on black cherry — dark and jammy rather than candied — with pink pepper cracking across the top so the fruit never turns to syrup. Then the surprise: the cherry sinks into leather. Not a raw, smoky hide, but a soft suede smoothed by cream and sweetened by benzoin. Underneath, vanilla absolute, cashmeran, amber and Iso E Super give it warmth and reach.
It has become the most admired of the pair. Fragrantica rates it 4.39 out of 5 from 57 votes, well above its sibling Elyssia Aura. MutMaat praises a “beautifully judged black cherry” and leather that turns “into something closer to supple suede”; Geec13 calls it “possibly the best unisex fragrance”.
It is not sold as a copy of anything, and no designer dupe claim holds up. Two reviewers compare it to other affordable Arabian scents, which we note below, but Scarlet is best understood as an original — so this page compares it with its siblings instead.
The Scent Pyramid at a Glance
Nine notes, as Riiffs lists them on its UK store — and Fragrantica agrees note for note. We don’t use the UAE store’s version, which repeats “leather, cream, benzoin” as both heart and base: a data-entry slip, not a formula.
Two notes doing a lot of work. The cherry is dark, jammy, almost liqueur-soaked; pink pepper gives it a dry, rosy fizz so it reads adult rather than sweet-shop. Bright and loud for the first quarter of an hour — and the part that decides whether cherry works for you.
What lifts Scarlet out of the ordinary. The leather arrives under the cherry rather than replacing it, so for a while you get fruit on hide. It is a smooth, modern suede rather than a tarry leather; cream softens it and benzoin adds a resinous sweetness bridging into the base.
The reason Scarlet carries. Vanilla absolute is darker and more resinous than plain vanilla; cashmeran adds a warm, musky plushness; amber ties it together; Iso E Super pushes it outward. Some people barely smell Iso E Super, which may explain the occasional report of it “disappearing”.

What Elyssia Scarlet Is (and Isn’t)
It isn’t a designer dupe. Riiffs names no inspiration on any of its stores, and no reviewer we found ties it to a designer or niche fragrance. The comparisons that do exist point sideways to other affordable houses: Andreea Scented Journey on Fragrantica says it is “90% same” as Lorene by Hekayat Attar, and Novice_connoisseur likens it to Lattafa’s Fire on Ice crossed with a sweet-dates scent. Those are single impressions, so we grade the dupe question None — Scarlet is an original cherry-leather composition.

Performance — What Wearers Report
These are community reports, not our own tests, and they agree unusually well. On Fragrantica, Maailman Katselija reports “10 hrs of longevity, with 3 – 4 hours of significant projection” and Geec13 “12+ hours still detectable on skin”. Mona Mostafa at I Fragrance reported projection for 6–8 hours, 12–14 hours on fabric, and found Scarlet projects more strongly than Aura.

- Wait twenty minutes before judging. The sharp cherry-pepper opening is its least flattering phase; the leather only shows once it settles.
- Not for cherry sceptics. If cherry notes have never worked on you, the rest of the fragrance won’t rescue it.
- A minority dislike the drydown. One Fragrantica reviewer noticed a sweaty, musky turn later on; another found it more spicy-musky than creamy.
