Lattafa King of Arabia makes leather approachable. Jammy raspberry and bergamot open it, apricot-toned osmanthus, powdery orris and dry cedar bridge the middle, and it lands on smooth leather, vanilla and patchouli. It’s a Lattafa Pride release, and it’s strong. 100ml Eau de Parfum, £34.99, free UK delivery.

Lattafa King of Arabia: Jammy Raspberry Into Polished Leather

Most leather fragrances ask you to love leather from the first second. King of Arabia (ملك العرب) takes a gentler route. It opens on sweet, jammy raspberry with a zesty lift of bergamot. The heart is where it gets clever: osmanthus, a flower with a natural apricot-and-suede facet, carries the fruit smoothly into the leather, while orris adds a cool powder and cedar keeps things dry. The base is smooth leather softened by vanilla and grounded by patchouli, more boutique jacket than saddle. It’s part of Lattafa Pride, the house’s premium line, and it’s one of the newer releases there. You can see the rest of the house in our Lattafa perfumes collection.

The Scent Profile

Top — raspberry, bergamot. The raspberry is unmistakable, sweet and a little jammy. Bergamot stops it becoming syrupy. This fruity opening is what makes the fragrance approachable for people who normally find leather too harsh.

Heart — cedarwood, orris, osmanthus. This is the bridge. Osmanthus has an apricot-and-suede character that lets the fruit slide into the leather rather than sitting on top of it. Orris adds a cool, powdery polish, and cedar keeps the middle from turning soft. Fragrantica’s accord chart has leather, woody and fruity at the top, with powdery and iris further down, and that’s exactly how this phase comes across.

Base — leather, patchouli, vanilla. The drydown is warm and polished. The leather is smooth, vanilla sweetens it and patchouli gives it an earthy floor. Fragrantica also lists animalic and smoky accords, and on some skin the leather does read darker and more animal than a clean suede.

How King of Arabia Compares — the Honest Version

Lattafa names no inspiration for King of Arabia. On Fragrantica, reviewers most often reach for Tom Ford leathers, especially Tuscan Leather, which also pairs raspberry with leather, and sometimes Ombré Nomade. A few also mention Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Cuir Infrarouge. One reviewer summed it up as a Middle Eastern twist on a Tom Ford leather. The fair reading is that King of Arabia is a cousin of those raspberry-leather compositions, sweeter and more powdery thanks to the osmanthus, orris and vanilla, rather than a copy of any one of them. Only about 200 people have voted on it so far, so the picture may still change.

Lattafa is an independent perfume house based in the UAE, with no affiliation to, licence from or endorsement by Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton, Maison Francis Kurkdjian or any other brand named on this page.

Lattafa King of Arabia Performance & When To Wear

BEST SEASONS

Fragrantica reviewers describe King of Arabia’s longevity in strong terms, with some calling it “eternal”, and note that its projection is powerful enough to need careful application. The review base is still small at around 200 votes, and we couldn’t retrieve a formal vote breakdown, so treat the bars as a qualitative summary of early reports.

It’s a cold-weather evening fragrance for autumn and winter nights, dinners and occasions. One or two sprays is plenty, because three will announce you across a room.

Who It’s For

King of Arabia is for anyone who wants leather made approachable by fruit, and for fans of raspberry-leather compositions who don’t want to pay designer prices. Lattafa markets it for men, and Fragrantica lists it for women and men. It leans masculine through the leather and cedar, but the fruity, powdery opening wears well on anyone who enjoys leather. Skip it if you want a dry, austere leather with no sweetness.

How It Compares With the Other Houses We Stock

Khadlaj Oud Noir (£19.99) is the natural companion. It opens on the same raspberry, adds saffron and pepper, moves into rose, incense and cypriol, and lands on oud, amber and patchouli. The two share the raspberry-and-patchouli thread, but Oud Noir takes it into smoky oud and rose, while King of Arabia takes it into powdery leather and vanilla.

If you want the fruit-over-leather idea from a different angle, Riiffs Elyssia Scarlet (£29.99) uses black cherry and pink pepper over a creamy leather with benzoin, then vanilla absolute, cashmeran and amber. It’s the sweeter, creamier option. King of Arabia is drier and more powdery because of the orris and cedar.

King of Arabia’s Pride Partner

King of Arabia sits in Lattafa’s Pride line next to Petra Viola (£39.99). Both open on raspberry, but Petra Viola takes it towards violet and cotton candy for a sweeter, more playful finish, while King of Arabia turns to osmanthus and leather. Choose King for cooler evenings and a more grown-up feel; choose Petra Viola when you want something lighter and sweeter. Both are on our Lattafa Pride page.

Lattafa King of Arabia FAQs

What does Lattafa King of Arabia smell like?

Jammy raspberry and bergamot, then apricot-toned osmanthus with powdery orris and dry cedar, settling onto smooth leather, vanilla and patchouli. It’s fruity at first, then polished and leathery.

What are the full King of Arabia notes?

Top: raspberry, bergamot. Heart: cedarwood, orris, osmanthus. Base: leather, patchouli, vanilla. Fragrantica and lattafa.com agree. Listings that show saffron, cardamom and oud have the wrong data.

Is King of Arabia a Tuscan Leather dupe?

Not officially. Fragrantica reviewers often compare it to Tom Ford’s leathers, especially Tuscan Leather, because both pair raspberry with leather. King of Arabia is sweeter and more powdery, so it’s a cousin rather than a clone. Lattafa has no affiliation with Tom Ford.

How long does King of Arabia last?

Fragrantica reviewers describe it as extremely long-lasting with strong projection, although the review base is still small. One or two sprays is enough.

Is it for men or unisex?

Lattafa markets it for men, and Fragrantica lists it for women and men. It leans masculine but wears well on anyone who likes leather.

How much is Lattafa King of Arabia in the UK?

£34.99 for 100ml at Khaleej Scents, with free UK delivery and no minimum spend.

What is Lattafa Pride?

It’s Lattafa’s premium sub-line, with heavier presentation and denser compositions than the core range. King of Arabia is one of its newer releases.

Notes verified against Fragrantica and lattafa.com in September 2026. The two sources list an identical pyramid. Fragrantica shows no launch year or perfumer for this fragrance, so we haven’t stated either. Comparisons come from Fragrantica reviewers and are not a manufacturer claim. The review base is small (around 200 votes), and we could not retrieve a formal longevity and sillage vote breakdown, so the performance section summarises early reviewer reports qualitatively.
