Pyramid as listed on Fragrantica and on Lattafa’s own site — nine notes, and both sources agree.

Asad Bourbon is the cosy, dessert-leaning member of the Asad line: a lavender-and-plum opening with a pinch of pink pepper, a cacao and nutmeg heart lifted by fruity davana, then a boozy bourbon vanilla warmed by amber and dried out with vetiver. A cold-weather scent through and through. 100ml Eau de Parfum, £17.99, free UK delivery.

Lattafa Asad Bourbon: Cacao, Nutmeg and a Boozy Bourbon Vanilla

If the original Asad is pepper and tobacco, Asad Bourbon is the after-dinner version. It opens clean and slightly aromatic — lavender, a round golden mirabelle plum and a light fizz of pink pepper — and then, within half an hour, turns towards the kitchen: bitter cacao, grated nutmeg and davana, a flower oil with a fruity, almost boozy-apricot quality. The base is where the name comes from. Bourbon vanilla, rich and faintly oaky, sits on warm amber, with vetiver adding just enough dry earth to keep it from becoming a pudding. Launched in 2025, it is part of our Lattafa Asad collection within the wider Lattafa perfumes range, and it is the sweetest Asad of the lot.

The Scent Profile

Top — lavender, mirabelle plum, pink pepper. A gentler start than the original Asad. Lavender gives a clean herbal lift, mirabelle adds a soft, jammy fruit, and pink pepper is more sparkle than heat. It reads fresh for ten minutes or so, which surprises people expecting chocolate from the first spray.

Heart — cacao, nutmeg, davana. The signature. Cacao is dusty and slightly bitter rather than milk-chocolate sweet, nutmeg adds a warm, dry spice, and davana is the clever inclusion — a fruity, faintly alcoholic floral that bridges the plum opening and the boozy base. This is the part people describe as “chocolate liqueur”.

Base — bourbon vanilla, amber, vetiver. Rich, smooth and long. The bourbon vanilla has a darker, woody-boozy edge compared with a plain sugary vanilla; amber adds glow, and vetiver dries the finish so it stays wearable rather than cloying.

How Asad Bourbon Compares to Azzaro The Most Wanted — the Honest Version

Lattafa does not name an inspiration for Asad Bourbon, so this is a community comparison. Fragrantica reviewers often compare it to Azzaro The Most Wanted — the darker, sweeter EDP and Parfum versions, not the older, spicier Azzaro Wanted — with some saying it opens very like it. Other reviewers bring up Emporio Armani Stronger With You Intensely and Valentino Born in Roma Intense, because all of these live in the same boozy-vanilla, sweet masculine territory.

The differences are worth knowing. Several reviewers find Asad Bourbon less sweet and less complex than the designers it is compared to, and some call it fairly linear once the heart arrives. The cacao-and-nutmeg heart is also more pronounced here than in The Most Wanted, which leans more on its toffee-like sweetness. So: a close cousin in style, not a mirror image, and at a fraction of the designer price.

Lattafa Perfumes is an independent UAE fragrance house with no affiliation to, licence from, or endorsement by Azzaro, Giorgio Armani, Valentino or any other brand named here. We name them only to help you place the style.

Asad Bourbon is well liked — 4.41 out of 5 from more than 6,500 votes on its Fragrantica page — but we could not retrieve the longevity and sillage vote breakdown, so performance data is limited and we will not invent figures. The card above is a cautious, qualitative reading: it is generally described as a comfortable, warm scent rather than a beast, and some reviewers call the drydown linear.

Its natural home is cold weather. Cacao and bourbon vanilla bloom nicely in cool air and turn heavy in summer heat. Think autumn evenings, winter weekends, dinners and date nights. At work, one or two sprays on clothing is the limit.

Who It’s For & Styling

Asad Bourbon suits someone who likes sweet, boozy, gourmand scents but wants them wearable rather than sugary. If chocolate, vanilla and warm spice appeal, and you would rather smell cosy than sharp, it is an easy choice. Lattafa and Fragrantica list it for men — though Lattafa’s own site also files it as unisex — and the cacao-vanilla profile genuinely wears either way.

Styling tip: spray it onto a jumper or scarf as well as skin. The vanilla base clings well to wool, and the scent reads softer and richer on fabric than it does on warm skin.

How Asad Bourbon Compares With the Other Houses We Stock

The closest relative on our shelves is Riiffs Elyssia Aura (£29.99): cinnamon, orange and nutmeg over cognac, cocoa and vanilla cream, then bourbon vanilla, cedarwood and patchouli. Both share cocoa, nutmeg and bourbon vanilla. Aura is spicier and more obviously boozy, with cinnamon doing a lot of the work; Asad Bourbon is softer, with lavender and plum at the start rather than hot spice.

If you like the lavender-and-vetiver frame but want it drier and far less sweet, Riiffs Fareed (£29.99) is a cardamom-lavender fougère finishing on vetiver, tonka and cedar — the office-friendly counterpart to Asad Bourbon’s evening sweetness.

Other Bottles Called Asad

Bourbon shares a bottle shape with four other Asads, not a smell. If you want the spicy pineapple-and-tobacco scent the name is known for, that is the original Lattafa Asad (£17.99). Asad Elixir (£21.49) is the smoky evening one, built on saffron, tobacco and frankincense. The two Zanzibar bottles are for summer: Asad Zanzibar (£15.49) with coconut water, iris and salt, and Zanzibar Limited Edition (£18.99) with marine notes, soap and amber. The full line is on our Lattafa Asad page.

Lattafa Asad Bourbon FAQs

What does Lattafa Asad Bourbon smell like?

A warm chocolate-and-vanilla scent with a clean start. Lavender, plum and pink pepper open it, cacao, nutmeg and fruity davana form the heart, and bourbon vanilla, amber and vetiver finish it. Sweet and boozy, but not sugary.

What are the full Asad Bourbon notes?

Top: lavender, mirabelle plum, pink pepper. Heart: cacao, nutmeg, davana. Base: bourbon vanilla, amber, vetiver. Fragrantica and Lattafa’s own site agree on all nine.

Is Asad Bourbon a dupe of Azzaro The Most Wanted?

Lattafa does not claim so. Fragrantica reviewers often compare it to Azzaro The Most Wanted (the EDP and Parfum), and also mention Stronger With You Intensely and Born in Roma Intense. It shares their boozy-vanilla style but has a more obvious cacao-nutmeg heart, and several reviewers find it less sweet and less complex. Lattafa has no affiliation with any of these brands.

How long does Asad Bourbon last?

Performance data is limited: we could not access Fragrantica’s vote breakdown, so we will not quote hours. It is generally described as a warm, moderately projecting scent that lasts well, and like most Lattafa it tends to improve after a few weeks of rest.

Is Asad Bourbon for men or women?

Fragrantica lists it for men, and so does the Lattafa product line, though Lattafa’s own site also describes it as unisex. The cacao-vanilla profile wears comfortably on anyone who likes warm gourmands.

How much is Lattafa Asad Bourbon in the UK?

£17.99 for the 100ml Eau de Parfum at Khaleej Scents, with free UK delivery and no minimum spend.

Can I wear Asad Bourbon in summer?

We would not recommend it. Heat pushes the vanilla and cacao forward and it can feel heavy. It is at its best from autumn to early spring.

Notes verified against Fragrantica and lattafa.com in September 2026; both list the same nine notes and Fragrantica gives a 2025 launch. Fragrantica lists it for men; lattafa.com also labels it unisex. The designer comparisons reflect Fragrantica reviewer opinion, not a claim by Lattafa. Fragrantica’s longevity and sillage vote breakdown was not available to us, so performance is described qualitatively. Written by Shaheen Shah Abrar, Khaleej Scents.
