Lattafa Khamrah Dukhan: Allspice, Incense and Sweet Tobacco
Dukhan means smoke in Arabic, and Lattafa built this one around the ritual of burning bakhoor and resins at home. It opens hot, with pimento (allspice) and smoked spices and a quick flash of mandarin. The heart is where the smoke lives: incense and labdanum, with orange blossom and patchouli giving it shape. The dry-down turns to sweet pipe tobacco and amber, with praline, tonka and benzoin tying it back to the rest of the Lattafa Khamrah line. It’s the darkest bottle in the family and one of the best-value evening scents in our Lattafa perfumes range.
The Scent Profile
Top: mandarin, pimento, smoked spices. Pimento is peppery and clove-like, and it arrives loudly. The smoked spices add a dry, charred edge, and mandarin brightens the first few minutes before disappearing. This is the most assertive opening in the Khamrah family.
Heart: incense, labdanum, orange blossom, patchouli. Here’s the smoke. It’s a resinous haze rather than a bonfire. Incense gives it a dry, meditative quality. Labdanum, which Lattafa lists as cistus, adds a dark, faintly leathery amber. Patchouli brings earthiness, and orange blossom keeps the whole thing from feeling heavy.
Base: tobacco, amber, tonka bean, benzoin, praline. Sweet tobacco leads the dry-down, wrapped in amber. Praline, tonka and benzoin are the family signature, and this is where Dukhan most clearly shares DNA with the original. It’s less sugary than Khamrah, but don’t expect a dry, ashy tobacco. It’s still a sweet fragrance.
How Khamrah Dukhan Compares
Lattafa doesn’t name a designer reference. Its product copy talks about Middle Eastern smoke rituals, not other brands. The comparisons come from the community and they’re scattered. Fragrantica reviewers often compare it to Kilian Angels’ Share, mostly through the shared praline-tonka warmth of the Khamrah line, and also mention Armani Stronger With You Intensely and Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille.
The Tobacco Vanille comparison is the most useful one for this particular bottle, since both centre on sweet tobacco over a warm, spiced base. Dukhan differs by adding a clear incense-and-labdanum layer and a peppery allspice opening that the Tom Ford doesn’t have. It’s a smokier, more resinous take on the sweet-tobacco idea, not a copy of any one scent.
Lattafa Perfumes is an independent UAE house with no affiliation to, licence from, or endorsement by Kilian, Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford or any other brand named here.
Lattafa Khamrah Dukhan Performance & When To Wear
Dukhan is rated 4.20 out of 5 on Fragrantica from about 2,800 votes. The individual longevity and sillage tallies weren’t available to us, so the bars reflect the written reviews. The pattern is clear: it’s long-lasting on skin and very strong for the first few hours, and several reviewers say one or two sprays is plenty. A minority find it simply too loud for everyday wear.
It belongs in autumn and winter. Dinners, formal evenings, nights out, a cold walk home. Heat pushes the pimento and tobacco too far, so leave it on the shelf in summer.
Who It’s For
Dukhan is for anyone who likes the Khamrah warmth but finds the original too sugary, and for fans of sweet tobacco and incense. Fragrantica files it under men and Lattafa describes it as a unisex scent with a masculine emphasis. We’ve shelved it in men’s to match, but anyone who enjoys resinous, smoky ambers can wear it. Skip it if you dislike peppery spice or want a genuinely dry, ashy tobacco.
How it compares with the other houses we stock
The closest cross-house match is Khadlaj Icon (£29.99), which has the same incense-and-labdanum heart. Icon puts it between a fresh bergamot-lavender opening and an amber, suede and sandalwood base, so it’s cleaner and less sweet overall. If you like Dukhan’s smoky middle but want something you could wear in daylight, try Icon.
If it’s the tobacco you’re after, Riiffs Fareed (£29.99) lists tobacco alongside cardamom and pepper, but builds towards a lavender-vetiver fougère rather than an amber gourmand. It’s far drier than Dukhan and much more office-friendly.
Dukhan Next to the Other Khamrahs
If Dukhan is too dry for you, the original Lattafa Khamrah (£22.99) is the sweet, spiced date-and-praline version it grew out of. Khamrah Qahwa (£23.99) sits between the two, with cardamom, praline and coffee. And if you like the family but need something for July, Khamrah Waha (£37.69) turns the name into a fresh yuzu, cucumber and vanilla scent. The four are compared on our Lattafa Khamrah page.
Price, Size & What You Get
Dukhan is sold as a 100ml Eau de Parfum only. At £19.99 it’s the least expensive bottle in the Khamrah line, at 20p per millilitre.

Lattafa Khamrah Dukhan FAQs
What does Lattafa Khamrah Dukhan smell like?
Hot allspice and smoked spices, then a resinous haze of incense and labdanum, settling into sweet tobacco, amber and praline. It’s warm and smoky, and sweet underneath.
What are the full Khamrah Dukhan notes?
Top: mandarin, pimento, smoked spices. Heart: incense, labdanum (cistus), orange blossom, patchouli. Base: tobacco, amber, tonka bean, benzoin, praline. Lattafa and Fragrantica agree on this pyramid, with only small differences in wording.
Is Khamrah Dukhan a dupe of anything?
Not in any settled sense. Lattafa makes no claim, and Fragrantica reviewers compare it variously to Kilian Angels’ Share, Armani Stronger With You Intensely and Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. It shares a sweet-tobacco mood with the last of those but adds incense and allspice. Lattafa has no affiliation with any of these brands.
How long does Khamrah Dukhan last?
Fragrantica reviewers describe it as long-lasting with strong projection in the first few hours. We haven’t quoted an hour figure because the vote breakdown wasn’t available to us.
Is Khamrah Dukhan for men?
It leans that way. Fragrantica lists it for men and Lattafa calls it a unisex scent with a masculine emphasis. Anyone who enjoys smoky, sweet ambers can wear it.
How much is Khamrah Dukhan in the UK?
£19.99 for 100ml at Khaleej Scents, with free UK delivery and no minimum spend.
Is it actually smoky?
Yes, but softly. The smoke comes from incense and smoked spices and reads as a resin haze around sweet tobacco, not as a campfire.
Notes verified against Fragrantica and lattafa.com in September 2026. Lattafa lists “cistus” and “smoked spices” where Fragrantica lists labdanum and “spices”; we use Lattafa’s wording with the common name for cistus. Launch year 2025 per Fragrantica; no perfumer is credited there. Designer comparisons reflect Fragrantica reviewer comment, not a manufacturer statement. Performance is described from Fragrantica reviews and its 4.20/5 rating from 2,776 votes; it is not our own testing. Written by Shaheen Shah Abrar, Khaleej Scents.
