Lattafa Asad Zanzibar Limited Edition: Sea Air, Clean Soap and Warm Woods
The Limited Edition is not the original Zanzibar in a new box — it is a different fragrance that shares the name and the opening idea. It starts with a salty marine accord, cool lavender and a bright sparkle of pink pepper, and for the first half-hour it reads as a crisp aquatic. Then, instead of the original’s coconut water, it turns clean: a soap accord takes the lead, cashmeran gives it a soft musky-woody body, and a light thread of cinnamon warms it from underneath. The drydown is gentle and cosy — amber and tonka for sweetness, cedar and sandalwood for a dry, creamy wood. Lattafa describes it as inspired by the atmosphere of Zanzibar, pairing marine freshness with warm spice and woods. Released in 2025, it belongs to our Lattafa Asad collection in the wider Lattafa perfumes range.
The Scent Profile
Top — marine notes, lavender, pink pepper. Fresh, salty and aromatic. The marine note gives a clean sea-air impression, lavender adds a herbal coolness, and pink pepper keeps it lively. This is the only stretch that overlaps meaningfully with the original Zanzibar.
Heart — soap, cashmeran, cinnamon. The signature. The soap accord is fresh-out-of-the-shower clean, cashmeran gives it a smooth, slightly musky woodiness, and cinnamon is used lightly — a warm undertone rather than a spice-rack hit. If you enjoy the smell of clean laundry and warm skin, this is the part you will like.
Base — amber, sandalwood, cedar, tonka bean. A soft, warm landing. Tonka and amber add gentle sweetness, cedar keeps it dry, and sandalwood gives a creamy finish close to the skin.
How the Limited Edition Compares to Invictus Parfum — the Honest Version
Lattafa names no designer inspiration here. Fragrantica reviewers often compare it to Paco Rabanne Invictus Parfum — one describes it as having “Invictus DNA” but differing in depth — and some mention Rasasi Hawas, while noting the Limited Edition feels less synthetic.
That comparison makes sense in outline: all of them are marine-aromatic fresh scents with a warm woody-amber base. The Limited Edition’s soapy, cashmeran-led heart and its cinnamon undertone give it a cleaner, more laundered character than Invictus Parfum, and several reviewers call it “laundry-like” — which some mean as praise and others as a criticism. Treat it as a close neighbour of the fresh blue style rather than a copy of any single bottle.
Lattafa Perfumes is an independent UAE fragrance house with no affiliation to, licence from, or endorsement by Paco Rabanne, Rasasi or any other brand named here.
Lattafa Asad Zanzibar Limited Edition Performance & When To Wear
Performance data is limited. The Limited Edition’s Fragrantica page is well rated — 4.19 out of 5 from around 420 votes, far warmer than the original Zanzibar — but it does not yet carry a separate longevity or sillage vote count, so the bars above are a cautious, qualitative reading of the written reviews rather than measured data.
Where it shines is versatility. It is a warm-weather scent first, comfortable from spring into early autumn, and it is genuinely office-safe — clean, fresh and unlikely to bother anyone. It works on warm evenings too, though it is not the one to pick for a dressy winter night.
Who It’s For & Styling
This edition suits anyone who loves clean, soapy, “just showered” fresh scents and wants an easy, likeable everyday bottle. It is also the Zanzibar to choose if the coconut in the original put you off. It is the wrong buy if you find soapy or laundry-clean notes dull. Lattafa and Fragrantica list it for men; the soapy-woody profile wears comfortably on anyone, so we list it in both men’s and unisex.
Styling tip: it is a limited run, so if it becomes your signature, it is worth having a spare. Two or three sprays is enough — the opening projects well, and the soapy heart reads best when it is not overdone.
How the Limited Edition Compares With the Other Houses We Stock
For another cold, clean daytime fresh scent, Riiffs Freeze (£29.99) leads with spearmint, citrus and a snow accord over ginger, tea and sage, finishing on amber and cedar. Freeze is icier and more citrus-driven; the Limited Edition is saltier and soapier, with a warmer tonka-sandalwood base.
If you like the lavender and the dry woody finish but want something more structured, Riiffs Fareed (£29.99) is a cardamom-lavender fougère over vetiver, tonka and cedar — less marine, more classic barbershop.
How the Limited Edition Fits the Asad Line
This is the cleanest-smelling Asad. The standard Asad Zanzibar (£15.49) is its closest relative, but it’s built on salty coconut water and iris, which some people love and others find odd. If you want Asad for colder months, there are three options: the original Lattafa Asad (£17.99) with pineapple, tobacco and vanilla, the gourmand Asad Bourbon (£17.99), and the smoky Asad Elixir (£21.49). Browse them together on our Lattafa Asad page.
Price, Size & What You Get
A full 100ml Eau de Parfum for £18.99, about 19p per millilitre. It costs a few pounds more than the original Zanzibar, and for most people it is the easier of the two to enjoy.

Lattafa Asad Zanzibar Limited Edition FAQs
What does Asad Zanzibar Limited Edition smell like?
Fresh, clean and soapy. A salty marine note with lavender and pink pepper opens it, soap, cashmeran and a soft cinnamon form the heart, and amber, sandalwood, cedar and tonka give a warm woody finish.
What are the full notes?
Top: marine notes, lavender, pink pepper. Heart: soap, cashmeran, cinnamon. Base: amber, sandalwood, cedar, tonka bean. This is Fragrantica’s pyramid; Lattafa’s own product page does not publish notes for this edition.
Is it an Invictus Parfum dupe?
Lattafa does not say so. Fragrantica reviewers often compare it to Invictus Parfum, and some to Rasasi Hawas. It shares their fresh marine-woody style, but its soapy, cashmeran heart makes it cleaner and more laundered. Lattafa has no affiliation with those brands.
How long does it last?
Performance data is limited; Fragrantica has no separate vote breakdown for it yet. Reviews point to moderate longevity with a brighter opening that settles closer to the skin.
Is it for men or women?
Lattafa and Fragrantica list it for men. The clean, soapy profile is easy for anyone to wear, so we list it as both men’s and unisex.
How much is it in the UK?
£18.99 for 100ml at Khaleej Scents, with free UK delivery and no minimum spend.
How is it different from the original Asad Zanzibar?
Both open with lavender and pepper, but the Limited Edition adds a marine note and replaces the original’s coconut water, iris and salt with soap, cashmeran and cinnamon, then finishes on amber and woods rather than vanilla and incense. It is fresher, cleaner and much less divisive.
Notes verified against Fragrantica in September 2026. lattafa.com’s product page for this edition publishes no note pyramid, so Fragrantica is the sole pyramid source; launch year (2025) as shown there. The Invictus Parfum and Hawas comparisons reflect Fragrantica reviewer opinion, not a claim by Lattafa. Fragrantica shows no separate longevity or sillage vote count for this edition, so performance is described qualitatively. Written by Shaheen Shah Abrar, Khaleej Scents.
