Lattafa Yara: Powdery, Creamy and Softly Fruity
Yara is the fragrance people mean when they talk about “the pink Lattafa”. It opens with tangerine, then turns powdery almost immediately as heliotrope’s almond-vanilla softness and a delicate orchid note take over. The heart is a creamy gourmand accord blended with tropical fruit, and a lot of wearers describe it as a strawberry milkshake even though no strawberry is listed. It settles into vanilla, clean musk and a little sandalwood. It’s the original in the Lattafa Yara line and the gentlest, cheapest way into our Lattafa perfumes range.
The Scent Profile
Top: orchid, heliotrope, tangerine. Tangerine gives the first spray a bit of sparkle, but heliotrope is the note that defines Yara. It’s powdery, slightly almond-like and reminiscent of cherry-pie florals. Orchid adds a soft, creamy floral quality, and the effect is pastel rather than bright.
Heart: gourmand accord, tropical fruits. This is where Yara gets its milkshake reputation. The gourmand accord is creamy and dessert-like, and the tropical fruit reads as ripe and soft rather than tangy. The “strawberry” people notice comes from this blend, not from a listed strawberry note.
Base: vanilla, musk, sandalwood. The dry-down is light and comforting. Whipped vanilla, clean musk and just enough sandalwood give it body. It sits close to the skin, which is part of its appeal and part of its limitation.
How Yara Compares
Lattafa doesn’t name an inspiration for Yara. Its own page lists notes and calls it an amber-vanilla fragrance, nothing more. Retailers often sell it as an alternative to Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’62, but that label doesn’t come from the manufacturer. On Fragrantica, Cheirosa ’62 shows up in the “people who like this also like” suggestions rather than as a strong reviewer consensus.
When Fragrantica reviewers compare it to other fragrances, the names are scattered: Dior Hypnotic Poison for the almond-heliotrope powder, Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow for the pink sweetness, and Parfums de Marley Delina and Burberry Her Elixir among others. There’s no single designer match. Yara shares a creamy, powdery-sweet mood with those scents rather than any one structure. If you want the salted-caramel-pistachio character of Cheirosa ’62 specifically, Yara won’t give you that. It’s more floral and powdery.
Lattafa Perfumes is an independent UAE house with no affiliation to, licence from, or endorsement by Sol de Janeiro, Dior, Kayali, Parfums de Marley, Burberry or any other brand named here.
Lattafa Yara Performance & When To Wear
Yara is rated 3.94 out of 5 on Fragrantica from more than 12,000 votes. The individual longevity and sillage tallies weren’t available to us, so the bars reflect the written reviews. Those are honest about its limits. Many describe the sillage as very intimate, a close skin scent, and longevity reports are mixed, with some wearers happy with a full working day and others finding it fades quickly. Several say it performs better once a bottle has rested for a few months. Spraying hair and clothing helps.
It’s an easy daytime fragrance. Spring, early summer and mild autumn days, the office, brunch, errands. It can get lost at a formal evening event or on a cold winter night.
Who It’s For
Yara suits anyone who wants a soft, pretty, comforting scent that won’t bother the people around them, and anyone new to Arabian perfumery who assumes it’s all oud. Lattafa and Fragrantica list it for women. It reads feminine without being childish. If you want something that projects across a room, this isn’t it. Look at Yara Tous or Yara Elixir instead.
How it compares with the other houses we stock
The closest match in our range is Arabiyat Prestige Nyla (£39.99, 80ml), which wearers often mention in the same breath as Yara. Nyla puts coconut and peach where Yara has heliotrope and orchid, with a tiare-jasmine heart and a musk-patchouli base. It’s more tropical and more coconut-forward. Yara is more powdery.
If what you love is the strawberry-milkshake impression, Khadlaj Cloud Candy (£24.99) makes it explicit with real strawberry, raspberry, marshmallow and whipped cream over vanilla and musk. It’s sweeter and more candy-like than Yara, and less floral.
The Other Yaras
Yara has two siblings on our shelves, and each takes the vanilla base somewhere different. Yara Tous (£19.99) swaps the orchid for mango and coconut over vanilla, so it leans sunnier and suits hot summer days. Yara Elixir (£21.99) goes the dessert route with strawberry and caramel on a vanilla base, which makes it a cosier pick for autumn and winter evenings. The original stays the softest of the three, and you can see the whole family on our Lattafa Yara page.
Price, Size & What You Get
Yara comes as a 100ml Eau de Parfum. At £17.99, or 18p per millilitre, it’s the cheapest Lattafa bottle we stock and a low-risk first try.

Lattafa Yara FAQs
What does Lattafa Yara smell like?
Soft, powdery and creamy. Tangerine and heliotrope open it, a fruity dessert-like heart follows, and it settles into vanilla, musk and sandalwood. Many people describe it as a strawberry milkshake.
What are the full Lattafa Yara notes?
Top: orchid, heliotrope, tangerine. Heart: gourmand accord, tropical fruits. Base: vanilla, musk, sandalwood. Fragrantica and Lattafa list the same notes.
Is Lattafa Yara a dupe of Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’62?
That’s a retailer label, not a Lattafa claim. On Fragrantica, Cheirosa ’62 appears among “people also like” suggestions, while reviewers compare Yara to a spread of fragrances including Dior Hypnotic Poison and Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow. Yara is more powdery-floral and has no pistachio or salted-caramel note. Lattafa has no affiliation with any of these brands.
How long does Lattafa Yara last?
Fragrantica reviewers report mixed longevity and mostly intimate sillage. It’s a soft scent by nature. Spraying clothing and hair helps, and some say a rested bottle performs better.
Is Yara for women?
Lattafa and Fragrantica list it for women. Anyone who likes soft, sweet, powdery scents can wear it.
How much is Lattafa Yara in the UK?
£17.99 for 100ml at Khaleej Scents, with free UK delivery and no minimum spend.
Is there strawberry in Yara?
Not officially. Neither Lattafa nor Fragrantica lists strawberry. The impression comes from the tropical fruit and creamy gourmand accord in the heart.
Notes verified against Fragrantica and lattafa.com in September 2026. Both list the same pyramid. Launch year 2020 per Fragrantica; no perfumer is credited there. Designer comparisons reflect Fragrantica reviewer comment and its “people also like” suggestions, not a manufacturer statement. Performance is described from Fragrantica reviews and its 3.94/5 rating from 12,428 votes; it is not our own testing. Written by Shaheen Shah Abrar, Khaleej Scents.
