Lattafa Sublime: Red Apple, Lychee and a Mossy Twist

The first thing to know about Sublime is that the collection name is misleading. It belongs to Lattafa’s Bade’e Al Oud line, but on skin it is a fruity floral, not an oud. Launched in 2023 in its distinctive red bottle, it opens on crunchy red apple and juicy lychee, runs through plum and jasmine, and finishes on a mossy, slightly earthy base that stops the fruit tipping into sweets. If you came to the Lattafa perfumes range looking for smoke and resin, this is the wrong bottle. If you want something bright, cheerful and easy to reach for, it may be the right one.

The Scent Profile

Top — apple, lychee, rose. Apple leads: red and crisp rather than green and sour. Lychee brings a wetter, tropical sweetness, and a dewy rose sits just behind them to keep it from reading like fruit juice. Plenty of Fragrantica reviewers describe the opening as smelling like a good fruity shampoo — which is meant, mostly, as a compliment.

Heart — plum, jasmine. The fruit darkens slightly. Plum adds a rounder, jammier note, and jasmine gives the middle a soft floral lift without turning heady.

Base — moss, vanilla, patchouli. This is where Sublime earns its character. Moss brings a green, slightly damp earthiness; patchouli deepens it; vanilla softens the edges. The effect is fruit resting on a forest floor rather than on a sugar cube, and it is what separates Sublime from the many flat apple fragrances on the market.

How It Compares — the Honest Version

Lattafa does not name an inspiration for Sublime. The comparison comes from the community: Fragrantica reviewers often compare it to Kayali Eden Juicy Apple and to Kayali’s Sparkling Lychee, and the shared apple-and-lychee idea is easy to hear. Where it differs, by reviewers’ own accounts, is the base — Sublime is described as earthier and muskier, with its moss and patchouli pulling it away from a straightforwardly sweet profile. It is a related idea, not an identical fragrance.

Lattafa has no affiliation with, licence from or endorsement by Kayali or any other brand named here.

Sublime Performance & When To Wear

Performance at a Glance
Summarised from Fragrantica community reports (3,000+ ratings) — see the sourcing note below
LONGEVITY · moderate — a working morning rather than a full day for many
SILLAGE · moderate, lively at first
OFFICE SAFE · yes, at two sprays
VERSATILITY · daytime spring and summer, with some cooler-month use
BEST SEASONS
Spring ●●●Summer ●●●Autumn ●●○Winter ●○○

Fragrantica voters mostly put Sublime in the moderate bracket: reviewers commonly report something in the region of four to six hours on skin, with a lively first hour, though it varies with application and skin. It is not a beast and does not claim to be — if longevity is your top priority, one of the darker Bade’e Al Oud bottles will serve you better. Spraying clothing as well as skin helps.

Its natural home is warm-weather daytime: the office, weekends, spring and summer. The vanilla-patchouli base gives it enough body to carry into early autumn, and reviewers mention layering it in cooler months, but it is at its best in the sun.

Who It’s For

Sublime suits anyone who likes fruity, cheerful fragrances with a bit more texture than a supermarket body mist. Lattafa sells it as unisex and Fragrantica lists it as unisex with a feminine lean — the apple and rose read soft, but the mossy base is gender-neutral. It is an easy, low-risk blind buy for fruity-scent fans, and a sensible first Arabian fragrance for someone who does not want oud.

How It Compares With the Other Houses We Stock

If lychee is what draws you, Arabiyat Prestige Safa (£39.99) builds on the same fruit but takes it towards Turkish rose, hazelnut and a vanilla-ambergris base — sweeter, more feminine and more gourmand than Sublime’s green, mossy finish. For a fruitier, red-berry take at a similar price, Khadlaj Ria (£24.99) goes raspberry, cherry and strawberry over grapefruit and musk, with a patchouli-blackcurrant base; it is the fizzier, more sparkling of the two, where Sublime is crisper and earthier.

Sublime’s Darker Siblings

Sublime is the fresh, green member of its house; the other three lean warmer and heavier. Oud for Glory (£19.49) is the original, built on saffron, oud and patchouli, and it comes into its own on winter evenings. Bade’e Al Oud Honor and Glory (£19.99) keeps a fruity opening like Sublime, but its pineapple runs into cinnamon and vanilla for a cosier autumn feel. Amethyst (£19.99) brings rose, oud and amber for special occasions when the weather turns cold. You can compare all four in our Lattafa Bade’e Al Oud collection.

Lattafa Sublime FAQs

What does Lattafa Sublime smell like?

Crisp red apple and juicy lychee with a dewy rose, then plum and jasmine, settling onto a green, earthy moss base softened by vanilla and patchouli. Fruity and bright, but grounded rather than sugary.

What are the full Sublime notes?

Top: apple, lychee, rose. Heart: plum, jasmine. Base: moss, vanilla, patchouli. That is the Fragrantica pyramid, which most UK retailers also use. Lattafa’s own site lists a different version — plum and apple; magnolia, jasmine, a solar note, labdanum and amber; musk, moss and “caramel oud”. The two agree on apple, plum, jasmine and moss. We have used Fragrantica’s because it matches what reviewers describe, but you should know the brand’s list differs.

Is Sublime a Kayali Eden Juicy Apple dupe?

Fragrantica reviewers often compare it to Kayali Eden Juicy Apple and Sparkling Lychee, but Lattafa makes no such claim. Reviewers generally find Sublime earthier and muskier, thanks to its moss and patchouli base. Lattafa has no affiliation with Kayali.

Does Sublime actually contain oud?

Not in the Fragrantica pyramid, and reviewers consistently say they cannot detect one. Lattafa’s own list mentions a “caramel oud” in the base, but on skin this is a fruity floral. Buy it for the fruit, not for oud.

How long does Sublime last?

Moderately. Fragrantica reviewers commonly report around four to six hours on skin, strongest in the first hour, with variation from person to person. Spraying clothing helps.

Is Sublime for men or women?

Lattafa sells it as unisex. Fragrantica lists it as unisex leaning feminine, largely because of the apple and rose opening. The mossy base wears comfortably on anyone.

How much is Sublime in the UK?

£19.99 for the 100ml Eau de Parfum at Khaleej Scents, with free UK delivery and no minimum spend.

Notes verified against Fragrantica and lattafa.com in September 2026. The two sources list different pyramids; we have used Fragrantica’s, which UK retailers and reviewer descriptions match, and set out lattafa.com’s version above. The Kayali comparison reflects Fragrantica reviewer opinion, not a Lattafa claim. Performance is summarised from Fragrantica community reports, not our own testing.
