Creed’s Virgin Island Water is the lime-and-coconut scent people reach for when they want to smell like a Caribbean holiday. It costs £310 for 100ml on Creed’s UK site, and its best-known weakness, according to reviewers on Fragrantica, is that it doesn’t last long.
Bujairami Ibiza takes that brief openly. The brand sells it as “Ibiza Inspired By Virgin Island Water Creed – Extrait”, and its published notes match the nine notes Fragrantica lists for the current Virgin Island Water, tier for tier. The meaningful difference is concentration: Ibiza is an Extrait de Parfum, while the Creed is an Eau de Parfum.
It is the summer bottle of the Bujairami range: bright, creamy and clean rather than sweet or oily. It is a fragrance for warm days, not for the office in December.
How Ibiza Is Built
Nine notes in three tiers. Bujairami’s own listing and Fragrantica’s Ibiza page publish the same pyramid.
Lime does the heavy lifting: zesty and realistic rather than sweetened. Bergamot keeps it clean and the tropical-fruit accord adds juiciness without naming any one fruit. It is bright and immediately likeable, and it is also the shortest phase.
Coconut makes or breaks this style. Here it is coconut milk (cool, creamy and soft), not the waxy, toasted coconut of sun cream. Jasmine and white flowers add a fresh lift that stops it going flat, which is where most beach scents fail.
A well-judged landing. Patchouli grounds the sweetness with something earthy, tonka bean adds soft almond warmth without turning into dessert, and white musk gives the clean, sun-on-skin finish.

Ibiza vs Creed Virgin Island Water: Where They Match and Where They Don’t
Creed re-released Virgin Island Water in 2025, and Fragrantica lists the current version with exactly the pyramid Bujairami publishes for Ibiza. The difference that matters on skin is concentration.

How close is it, really? On paper, identical. On skin, we can’t yet point to named reviewers who own both. Ibiza’s early Fragrantica reviews are enthusiastic (one reviewer, roarpowa, says the coconut is “smooth and made more prominent” than in another lime-coconut scent they own), but none compares it with the Creed. Matching note lists never guarantee an identical smell, so treat this as the same design, not a proven twin. Bujairami has no affiliation with Creed; we name Virgin Island Water because Bujairami does.
Know which Virgin Island Water you mean. The 2007 original on Fragrantica is a different pyramid: coconut, lime, white bergamot and mandarin over ginger, ylang-ylang, jasmine and hibiscus, landing on white rum, sugar cane and musk. It is boozier and more piña colada. Ibiza follows the current listing, not the vintage one.
Longevity and Projection — The Honest Picture
Ibiza has only a couple of dozen votes on Fragrantica and too few wearer reports to quote hours honestly, so we don’t. Some listings quote “12 to 14 hours”, but that is generic extrait wording, not a measurement. What we can say: citrus openings fade fastest, and the coconut-musk-tonka drydown is what stays. Being an extrait gives it a better starting point than the Creed’s EDP.

Good to Know Before You Buy
- Heat is its friend. Warmth pushes coconut and musk outwards. It is superb in spring and summer and in humid weather, and thin in deep winter.
- Not sun cream. If coconut has put you off before, the milky treatment and jasmine lift here are worth another try.
- Apply to hydrated skin. Coconut and musk hold better on moisturised skin. Two sprays on the chest and one on the neck is plenty on a hot day.
- Genuinely unisex. Nothing in the structure leans masculine or feminine.
- Chasing a vintage bottle? If the Virgin Island Water you remember was boozy with rum, Ibiza follows the current, rum-free version instead.
