Bujairami Roselle — Fragrance Du Bois Sirène’s Dark Cherry, at a Seventh of the Price

Cherry · Pepper · Oud · Lactones · Incense · Benzoin · Cypriol · Labdanum · Moss — 100ml Extrait de Parfum, 100% authentic, free UK delivery.

Roselle is the Bujairami that nobody talks about yet, and possibly the one that most deserves it. Dark, syrupy cherry and a bite of pepper open onto smoky oud and cool incense, softened by creamy lactones, then settle into an earthy base of benzoin, cypriol, labdanum and moss. Sweet, smoky and unusual — the bottle you reach for when you want to smell of something nobody else in the room is wearing.

The reference is niche, and the brand names it. Bujairami sells this as “Roselle Inspired By Sirène Fragrance Du Bois”. Sirène is a 2024 parfum by Nanako Ogi, and Fragrantica lists exactly the same nine notes for it as Bujairami lists for Roselle. Fragrance Du Bois’s own UK site sells Sirène at £280 for 75ml.

Bujairami has no affiliation with Fragrance Du Bois. We name Sirène so you can place the style, and we set out below where a matching note list stops telling you anything.

Cherry arrives dark and rich — closer to black cherry preserve than cherry sweets — with pepper cutting through it dry and sharp so the sweetness never cloys.

IIHeart Notes

Smoky, resinous oud and cool incense give it a dark backbone. Lactones — the molecules behind creamy, milky textures — are the surprise, softening the smoke into something velvety.

IIIBase Notes

Benzoin brings honeyed warmth. Cypriol (nagarmotha), an Indian root oil, adds a dry, smoky, faintly medicinal texture rarely found in mainstream perfume. Labdanum gives dark amber depth, and moss grounds it all with a cool, damp earthiness.

Roselle vs Fragrance Du Bois Sirène

Set the two published lists side by side and every Roselle note is there. Fragrance Du Bois’s own listing adds cistus — the same rockrose plant labdanum comes from — and calls the pepper pink pepper.

Our grade: B+. The brand states the inspiration and the published pyramids match note for note, so on paper this is as close as it gets. We hold back from an A because the evidence on skin is thin: Roselle is not yet on Fragrantica and we have not found named reviewers comparing the two. Fragrance Du Bois builds its house style around oud from its own plantations, and that raw material is part of what you pay £280 for.

It is also worth knowing what Sirène’s own wearers say. On Fragrantica, opinions on its performance are split — some report it lasting well on skin and clothes, others say it fades fast, and several describe very strong projection. Expect a characterful, divisive scent rather than a safe one.

Performance — Honest Answer

ConcentrationExtrait de Parfum · the house’s highest
Base materialsOud, benzoin, labdanum, cypriol · known for tenacity
Community longevity dataNot enough data yet — we won’t guess

Roselle’s wearers have not yet reported hours in useful numbers, and even Sirène’s reviewers disagree sharply on longevity. So there is no hours figure here. What we can say: the cherry fades first, and the resin-heavy base is the kind that clings to clothing.

Good to Know Before You Buy

  • Cherry here is dark, not candy. If you want a sweet, gourmand cherry, Lattafa Mayar Cherry Intense is the friendlier choice.
  • There is real oud and smoke. The fruit fades and leaves incense, oud and earthy cypriol. That is the point, but it is not for everyone.
  • An evening scent. Autumn and winter, after dark. Too smoky and characterful for most offices.
  • Beware wrong note lists. Some UK listings show hibiscus or citrus for Roselle. Bujairami’s own pyramid is the one above.

Why Buy Roselle From Khaleej Scents

Every bottle is genuine Bujairami from authorised distribution, never refilled or repackaged — important with oud scents, where the base is the costly part and the easiest to fake. We check every note list against the brand’s own listing and independent sources such as Fragrantica, and we describe performance from what wearers consistently report rather than from our own lab claims.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tap a question to open the answer.

What is Bujairami Roselle a dupe of?
Fragrance Du Bois Sirène. Bujairami sells it as “Roselle Inspired By Sirène Fragrance Du Bois”, and Roselle’s nine published notes — cherry, pepper, oud, lactones, incense, benzoin, cypriol, labdanum and moss — match Sirène’s Fragrantica pyramid exactly.
How close is Roselle to Sirène?
On paper, identical. On skin, we cannot yet point to named reviewers comparing them, and Fragrance Du Bois uses oud from its own plantations, so expect the same blueprint rather than a proven copy.
How long does Bujairami Roselle last?
There is not enough wearer data yet to give an honest hours figure. It is an extrait with an oud, benzoin, labdanum and cypriol base, which points to a lasting scent; the cherry fades first.
Is Roselle for men or women?
Both. Fragrance Du Bois calls Sirène its first female-inspired scent, and the cherry and lactones feel soft at first, but oud, cypriol and moss pull Roselle back to the centre. We list it as unisex.
What is cypriol?
Cypriol, or nagarmotha, is an oil from a sedge root grown mainly in India. It smells dry, smoky and slightly medicinal, and gives woody scents an earthy roughness that oud alone does not.
Roselle vs Mad Love — which should I choose?
Both are fruit over smoke and oud. Roselle is dark cherry with creamy lactones and earthy moss. Mad Love is raspberry and rose with birch smoke and suede. Choose Roselle for something more niche and earthy, Mad Love for a rosier, leathery scent.
When should I wear Roselle?
Autumn and winter evenings — dinners, date nights and events. The smoke and resin are too characterful for a shared office.
How much is Bujairami Roselle in the UK?
£49.99 for 100ml Extrait de Parfum at Khaleej Scents, with free UK delivery on every order. Fragrance Du Bois’s UK site lists Sirène at £280 for 75ml.
