The difference is concentration, and it is not a small one. Fifty percent oil gives Purpose 50 a density and a tactile weight on skin that is not reproducible at £49.99, and we are not going to suggest otherwise. Reviewers who have worn the original describe it as unforgiving and not mass-appealing even by niche standards.
