Legacy does not open the way a vanilla usually does. The first moments are bright and faintly floral — orange blossom and bergamot — with Ceylon cinnamon and cardamom arriving almost at once to warm the citrus rather than replace it. Then creamy Bourbon vanilla, lifted by a lemon-and-pine resin called elemi, and finally smoky guaiac wood, toasted praline, ambroxan and musk. A vanilla with structure: if Tigris is sharp daylight, Legacy is a lit room in November.
Bujairami names the reference itself — its listing reads “Legacy Inspired by Althaïr Parfums de Marly”. Ten of the twelve notes Fragrantica lists for Althaïr are in Legacy’s pyramid. Althaïr costs £225 for 75ml on Parfums de Marly’s UK site.
Legacy is a 2026 release, so its review record is still small. We set out below exactly what that record says. Bujairami has no affiliation with Parfums de Marly.
The Legacy Pyramid
Ten notes. Bujairami’s listing and Legacy’s Fragrantica entry agree on every one.
An unusually lively start for an amber vanilla. Orange blossom gives a soft floral lift, bergamot keeps it clean, Ceylon cinnamon (the milder, sweeter kind) sets the temperature and cardamom adds a green, aromatic coolness.
Bourbon vanilla — the rich, faintly boozy variety — reads creamy rather than dessert-sweet. Elemi, a resin with a citrus-pine brightness, keeps it lifted through the middle hours instead of letting it flatten.
Guaiac wood is dry and smoky — the note that stops Legacy being simply sweet. Praline adds toasted, nutty caramel. Ambroxan gives a clean, mineral radiance and musk softens the edges into a skin-close finish. Smoke against sweetness is the whole point.

What the reviews say so far. On Legacy’s Fragrantica page, reviewer Andy316 calls it “easily the best dupe of Althair on the market. No harsh opening just very smooth.” Another, TwoWheelAUS, found Bujairami’s other Althaïr-inspired scent, Agha, “too strong and cloying” and prefers Legacy. timber_2025 notes that the Agha EDP is stronger than the Legacy extrait. That is encouraging, but it is only a handful of voices.
Our grade: A−. Brand-stated, ten of twelve notes shared, and a named reviewer ranking it the best Althaïr alternative available. Not a full A because the record is thin (ten votes) and the missing tonka and candied almond will make the base a little less creamy-nutty than Althaïr’s. Performance — No Invented Numbers
Legacy’s Fragrantica reviewers have not reported hours yet, so there is no hours figure here. One reviewer’s note that the Agha EDP is “stronger” suggests Legacy is the smoother, less overpowering of Bujairami’s two Althaïr readings. Two sprays is a sensible start.

- It is sweet — with structure. Guaiac and cardamom keep it grown-up, but it is still a vanilla-praline at heart.
