Bujairami Sweet Escape — Maison Mataha’s Crème Brûlée Idea, Note for Note
Sugar Cane · Vanilla · Tonka Bean · Benzoin · Musk — 100ml Extrait de Parfum, 100% authentic, free UK delivery.
Sweet Escape opens on sugar cane — not sharp white sugar, but the softer, slightly toasted kind that sits closer to caramelised sugar than boiled sweets. Within minutes vanilla and tonka settle in beneath it, and it holds that shape for the rest of the wear: creamy, rounded, unhurried. Benzoin and musk finish it close to the skin. It smells like the last spoonful of a crème brûlée.
The brand names the reference. Bujairami sells it as “Sweet Escape Inspired by Escapade Gourmande Maison Mataha”. Escapade Gourmande is the French house’s 2020 debut by Vincent Ricord, and its five-note Fragrantica pyramid is identical to Sweet Escape’s — sugar cane; vanilla and tonka; benzoin and musk.
It is a simple, honest gourmand with no twist in the third hour, and it does not pretend to have one. Bujairami has no affiliation with Maison Mataha.

Five Notes, Nothing Hidden
Bujairami’s listing and Sweet Escape’s own Fragrantica entry agree on all five notes.
A single opening note, which is unusual and honest. Sugar cane in perfume is a warm, faintly rummy sweetness rather than clean syrup, so the first minutes already lean towards the gourmand heart. No citrus or spice to work through.
The body of the scent. Vanilla gives the creaminess; tonka adds a nutty, almondy warmth with a hint of hay. Tonka is what makes a vanilla like this read grown-up rather than childish, and it gives the toasted, brûlée edge.
Benzoin is a balsamic resin with its own vanilla-like sweetness, so it deepens rather than redirects. Musk then softens everything down onto the skin — expect the last stretch to be quieter and closer than the opening.

Sweet Escape vs Escapade Gourmande — Same Pyramid, Different Maker
Put the two Fragrantica entries side by side and the pyramid is the same, tier for tier. What that does not tell you is the quality, ratio or concentration of the materials — which is where two scents with the same five notes can still smell different.

Our grade: B. The brand states the inspiration and the pyramids match exactly, which is a strong start. But a five-note pyramid is simple — many vanilla gourmands share most of these notes — and Sweet Escape has almost no independent review record: two votes on Fragrantica and no named reviewer comparing it with Escapade Gourmande. The one review there describes it as a very warm vanilla, “like a warm spice cookie”, suited to autumn and winter. Until more wearers weigh in, treat it as a faithful blueprint rather than a proven match.
Performance — We Won’t Guess
Sweet Escape has only a couple of votes on Fragrantica and no reported hours, so there is no longevity number here. Extrait concentration and a vanilla-benzoin base usually sit close and warm; sweet gourmands also tend to perform better in cool air than in summer heat, where they can feel heavy.

Good to Know Before You Buy
- It is straightforward on purpose. Five notes, one idea. If you want a gourmand that evolves through spice and wood, Legacy is the more complex choice.
- Sweet, but not candy. The tonka and benzoin keep it warm and toasty rather than sugary-sharp.
- Cold-weather scent. In summer heat, sweet resinous gourmands can feel cloying.
- Genuinely unisex. Nothing floral or fougère pushes it either way.
- Layers well. A spray under a plain musk or a woody scent stretches it in a new direction; layering with another gourmand just piles on sugar.
Why Buy Sweet Escape From Khaleej Scents
Every bottle is genuine Bujairami, sourced from authorised distribution and never refilled or repackaged. We check every note list against the brand’s own listing and independent sources such as Fragrantica, and we describe performance from what wearers consistently report rather than from our own lab claims. For Sweet Escape that means telling you plainly that the review record is still thin.
