Freeze is cold before it is anything else. It opens on spearmint against lemon zest, bergamot and grapefruit, with a mineral “snow” accord underneath that reads more like chilled air than a smell. Ginger keeps it moving, a dry tea-and-sage heart stops the citrus turning sweet, and it settles on a clean Ambermax™ amber and dry cedar close to the skin.

The Scent Pyramid at a Glance
Twelve notes, as Fragrantica lists them, credited to perfumer Shinichiro Oba. Be aware that Riiffs’ own stores disagree: the UAE site gives a completely different fruity-floral pyramid (bergamot, saffron, candy, jasmine, violet, blackcurrant, moss, musk) and the US site says “hibiscus, vanilla, amber”. We use the Fragrantica pyramid because it matches the name, the scent reviewers describe, and the icy-citrus listing most retailers carry.
The strongest and most divisive phase. Spearmint is cool and green, stacked against three citruses so the opening is bright rather than sour. The snow accord adds a mineral, faintly ozonic chill — the reason the name fits, and the part critics compare to household cleaners.
“Ice” is a cooling effect rather than a material, extending the mint. Ginger gives a dry, fizzy lift, while tea and sage add a herbal bitterness that keeps Freeze clean instead of fruity.
Ambermax™ is a clean, radiant, slightly powdery amber molecule and does most of the late work; cedar dries it out and a faint peony softens it. Several reviewers find this stage linear or synthetic — it is where Freeze stops being distinctive.

What Freeze Is (and Isn’t)
It isn’t a dupe of a named designer scent. Riiffs names none, and Fragrantica reviewers point in several directions rather than one: Tlevins23 likens it to “TF Neroli Portofino with an undertone of spearmint”, 6mcdonaldjack says taking Azzaro Chrome Extreme and swapping orange for mint gets “very close to this in vibe”, and pdurand compares the lemon opening to Club de Nuit Intense Man, “but a lot smoother/icy”. Those are passing impressions, not a consistent claim, so we grade it None and treat Freeze as an original. Riiffs has no affiliation with any of those houses.
