Khadlaj Epoque Artistique — Spiced Lavender Over a Creamy Vanilla-Tonka Base
Bergamot · Cardamom · Lavandin · Pepper · Musk · Geranium · Vanilla · Tonka · Cedarwood · Amber — 100ml Eau de Parfum, 100% authentic, free UK delivery.
Epoque Artistique — full name Maison Epoque Artistique — opens on cardamom, lavandin and pepper, passes through a clean musk-and-geranium heart, and settles into a creamy, sweet base of vanilla, tonka, cedarwood and amber. Khadlaj presents it as an artistic “cultural fusion” that pays homage to past eras. In practice it is a warm aromatic-oriental: fresh-spicy up top, soft and sweet underneath.
You may see it sold as an alternative to Rabanne Invictus Victory Elixir. The structure makes that understandable — cardamom, lavender, pepper, vanilla and tonka appear in both — but the evidence is thin. The only written comparison we could verify is a single Fragrantica forum post calling it a “cheapie alt for Victory Elixir”. Khadlaj itself makes no such claim. So we grade it C: treat it as a vibe, not a copy.
That is not a knock on the fragrance. It is simply a better buy if you want a creamy spiced lavender for its own sake, rather than a stand-in for a particular designer bottle.
The Scent Pyramid at a Glance
Ten notes as Khadlaj publishes them. Epoque Artistique does not yet have a Fragrantica perfume page, so the brand’s own listing is the reference here.
A bright, spicy-aromatic start. Lavandin is lavender’s sharper, more camphorous cousin; cardamom adds a cool spice, pepper a little bite and bergamot a flash of citrus.
A short bridge. Clean musk softens the spice and green, rosy geranium keeps the middle from going straight to sugar.
Where it spends most of its time: creamy vanilla and tonka, a dry cedar spine and warm amber. Reviewers describe the drydown as sweet and “pillowy” — easy to overspray.

Epoque Artistique vs Invictus Victory Elixir — On Paper
Victory Elixir’s Fragrantica pyramid has seven notes. Five of them appear in Epoque Artistique’s list. The two it lacks — incense and patchouli — are exactly what gives the Rabanne its darker, smokier edge.
| Khadlaj Epoque Artistique | Rabanne Invictus Victory Elixir | |

| Shared | Lavender (lavandin), cardamom, pepper, vanilla, tonka ✓ 5 of 7 | |
| Only in one | Bergamot, musk, geranium, cedarwood, amber | Incense, patchouli |

| Our grade | C — same lane, weak evidence (Khadlaj dupes guide) | |
Same genre on paper. Don’t buy it expecting a blind-test match.
Why only a C? Because a similar note list is not the same as a tested likeness. The claim rests on one short forum post, and Epoque adds geranium, musk, cedar and amber while leaving out the incense and patchouli that shape Victory Elixir’s drydown. Rabanne has no affiliation with Khadlaj, and we name Victory Elixir only so you can place the style. We have not shown a price comparison because we did not verify a UK RRP on Rabanne’s own site.
Performance — What We Know, and What We Don’t
With no Fragrantica perfume page and only a handful of reviews elsewhere, there is no reliable hours figure to report. The sweet vanilla-tonka-amber base points to a warm scent that lingers; two or three sprays is the sensible start.

Good to Know Before You Buy
- It is sweet. The spicy opening is brief; most of the wear is creamy vanilla and tonka. Go easy with the sprayer.
- Look for “Maison Epoque Artistique”. That is the full name on Khadlaj’s own site; some listings drop “Maison”.
- Not on Fragrantica yet. We have used Khadlaj’s official note list. Some databases carry different notes; treat those with caution.
- Cold-weather scent. Autumn, winter and evenings suit it; in summer heat the sweetness can feel heavy.
