Lattafa Opulent Dubai is, first and last, a mango: ripe and juicy, sharpened with lemon, grapefruit and fresh ginger, over a quiet jasmine-and-cedar heart and a green base of oakmoss, ambergris and benzoin. No oud, despite the name. A cheerful summer scent. 100ml Eau de Parfum, now £14.99 (was £19.99), free UK delivery.

Lattafa Opulent Dubai: Ripe Mango, Fresh Ginger and Green Moss

Ignore the name for a moment. Opulent Dubai is not a heavy oriental and there is no oud in it. It is a mango fragrance, and a very good one: ripe, juicy fruit sharpened with lemon, grapefruit and a bite of fresh ginger, sitting on a soft jasmine-and-cedar heart and drying down to a green, slightly bitter base of oakmoss, ambergris and benzoin. Fragrantica lists it as a 2025 release. Within our Lattafa perfumes collection it is the bright, summery counterweight to the ambers and ouds, and one of the most cheerful bottles in the range.

The Scent Profile

Top — mango, grapefruit, lemon, ginger. The mango is the headline from the first spray and it stays for most of the wear. Lemon and grapefruit keep it from turning into squash, and ginger adds a warm, spicy prickle that gives the fruit some edge. It is bright, sunny and instantly likeable.

Heart — jasmine, cedarwood, violet. A soft frame rather than a feature. Jasmine adds a little creamy sweetness, violet a touch of powder, and cedar a dry woody spine for the fruit to sit on. You are unlikely to pick these out individually, and that is the point.

Base — woody notes, ambergris, oakmoss, benzoin. This is what stops Opulent Dubai being a fruit juice. Oakmoss adds a green, earthy bitterness, ambergris a warm, skin-like glow, and benzoin a soft resinous sweetness. The mango slowly settles into something woodier and mossier as the hours go on.

How It Compares — the Honest Version

Lattafa does not name an inspiration for Opulent Dubai. Fragrantica reviewers often compare it to Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777 God of Fire, the niche fragrance best known for its mango opening, and a few also mention Vilhelm Parfumerie’s Vulcan Feu and Xerjoff’s Erba Pura.

The comparison with God of Fire makes sense on paper. Both open on mango, lemon and ginger, and both have jasmine and cedar in the heart. The clear difference is the base: God of Fire is known for its oud, nagarmotha and amber dry-down, while Opulent Dubai has no oud at all and finishes on oakmoss, ambergris and benzoin instead. Reviewers who make the comparison describe Opulent Dubai as the fresher, lighter, more affordable take on that mango opening, not a replica of the whole fragrance. If the smoky, darker side of God of Fire is what you love, this will not give you that.

Performance & When To Wear

Performance at a Glance
Based on the pattern in Fragrantica reviews — not our own figures
LONGEVITY · moderate — most reviewers report 5–7 hours on skin
SILLAGE · moderate to strong early, then a skin scent
OFFICE SAFE · yes — bright and friendly
VERSATILITY · warm-weather daytime; out of place in deep winter
BEST SEASONS
Summer ●●●Spring ●●●Autumn ●○○Winter ●○○

Fragrantica reviewers are divided on performance. Reports run from three or four hours up to all-day wear on clothing, and most settle on five to seven hours on skin. Projection is moderate to strong at first, then it becomes a skin scent. Reviewers also stress one thing repeatedly: give a new bottle time. Many say the mango smells sharp or synthetic straight out of the box and becomes riper and more natural after two weeks or more of rest. If yours starts out harsh, do not judge it on day one.

It is a spring and summer fragrance, and daytime above all. Heat brings the mango and ginger to life. A few reviewers find it too much in extreme heat, and in cold, grey weather it can feel out of place, though the mossy base keeps it wearable.

Who It’s For

Opulent Dubai is for anyone who wants a fun, sunny fragrance and does not need it to be complex. It is fairly linear: mango, then mango with woods, then a soft mossy mango. If you like fruity scents, or you have wanted to try the God of Fire style without paying niche prices, it is an easy yes. Lattafa and Fragrantica both list it as unisex, and nothing in it leans one way.

Skip it if you dislike sweet fruit, or if you want a fragrance that evolves a lot over the day.

How It Compares With the Other Houses We Stock

Bujairami Ibiza (£49.99) is the other tropical-summer bottle on our shelves. Where Opulent Dubai is mango, citrus and ginger over moss, Ibiza is lime and tropical fruit over creamy coconut milk, jasmine, tonka and white musk. Ibiza is softer, creamier and, as an Extrait, built to last longer; Opulent Dubai is sharper, fruitier and a third of the price.

If it is the citrus-and-ginger lift you like most, Bujairami Tigris (£49.99) takes grapefruit, lemon, bergamot and ginger in a dry, unsweetened direction, over ambrette, ambroxan, vetiver and patchouli. No fruit sweetness at all: the grown-up, office-ready alternative.

Opulent Dubai’s Darker Twin

For the colder months, Opulent Oud (£13.99) takes the Opulent name in a traditional direction with saffron, oud and rose. It is richer and more evening-focused than the mango, ginger and oakmoss in this bottle, which is at its best in warm weather. Many people keep one of each for different seasons. See the pair on our Opulent collection page.

Lattafa Opulent Dubai FAQs

What does Lattafa Opulent Dubai smell like?

Ripe, juicy mango with lemon, grapefruit and fresh ginger, over a soft jasmine, violet and cedar heart, drying down to oakmoss, ambergris and benzoin. Sunny, fruity and fresh, with a green, mossy finish.

What are the full Opulent Dubai notes?

Top: mango, grapefruit, lemon, ginger. Heart: jasmine, cedarwood, violet. Base: woody notes, ambergris, oakmoss, benzoin. Lattafa’s own listing and Fragrantica agree on this pyramid.

Does Opulent Dubai contain oud?

No. Despite the name, there is no oud in the published pyramid. It is a fruity, citrus-woody fragrance, not an oriental.

Is Opulent Dubai a God of Fire dupe?

Lattafa does not say so, but Fragrantica reviewers often compare it to SHL 777 God of Fire, because both open on mango, lemon and ginger. The big difference is that God of Fire finishes on oud, and Opulent Dubai does not. Think of it as the mango opening without the smoky base. Lattafa has no affiliation with Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777.

How long does Opulent Dubai last?

Reviewers mostly report five to seven hours on skin, longer on clothing, with a noticeable improvement after the bottle has rested for a couple of weeks.

Why does my new bottle smell synthetic?

It is a common complaint with fresh bottles. Many Fragrantica reviewers say the mango becomes riper and more natural after two weeks or more of rest in a cool, dark place.

Is Opulent Dubai for men or women?

Both. Lattafa and Fragrantica list it as unisex, and the fruity-woody character has no strong lean either way.

How much is Lattafa Opulent Dubai in the UK?

£14.99 for the 100ml Eau de Parfum at Khaleej Scents (reduced from £19.99), with free UK delivery and no minimum spend.

Notes verified against Fragrantica and Lattafa’s own product listing in September 2026; the two agree. Launch year is from Fragrantica, which shows no perfumer. Performance reflects the pattern across Fragrantica reviews, not our own measurements. The God of Fire comparison is reviewers’, not the brand’s. Written by Shaheen Shah Abrar, Khaleej Scents.
