The house sells the fragrance on its own Australian site under the title “Tigris Inspired by Tygar Bvlgari”, and its About page describes the whole company as making “inspired-by perfumes”. That is a manufacturer stating its own intent, which is far better evidence than the percentage claims you will find on reseller listings.
What the brand does not claim is that the two smell identical, and neither will we. Bvlgari’s own copy centres Le Gemme Tygar on intense grapefruit and ambergris, warmed by benzoin Siam and Peru balsam absolutes — a citrus-woody composition with a distinctly balsamic, resinous richness. Tigris shares the spine of that idea, the bitter grapefruit over a clean ambery base, but the published pyramids are not a note-for-note match. Where Tygar leans balsamic and resinous, Tigris substitutes ginger, ambrette, patchouli and vetiver, which makes it drier, fresher and more transparent. There is also a price gap worth naming: the Bvlgari extrait retails at around £350–£400 for 60ml, so Tigris is roughly a thirtieth of the cost per millilitre. If Tygar is the reference you are chasing exactly, expect a family resemblance rather than a mirror image.

Citrus is the least durable material family in perfumery, so what matters in a fragrance like this is what happens after the opening burns off — and here the ambroxan, musk and vetiver base is doing exactly the job it should. Expect the grapefruit to fade fastest and a clean, musky-woody skin scent to carry the rest of the wear.
