Riiffs Seasons Rise: Cinnamon, Caramel, Toffee and Praline
Seasons Rise opens brighter than it finishes. The first two minutes are orange blossom and pink pepper, a soft floral lift with a peppery prickle, on which evidence you might mistake it for something breezy. It is not. Nutmeg and orris turn the opening warm and powdery almost immediately, and within a quarter of an hour the sugar comes through. From there it moves in one direction: cinnamon over caramel, caramel over toffee, toffee thickening into praline and vanilla bean. Clary sage sits under the middle, keeping the sweetness from going syrupy; cashmeran gives the drydown a fuzzy warm-woody texture that stops it smelling like a dessert trolley; ambroxan and amber push it outward. It is loud, sweet and spiced, built for cold air — big for three hours, then close and rich for many more — and sits at the heavy, sugared end of the Riiffs perfumes UK catalogue, near Momento and Zenith rather than anything fresh.
Read this before you buy either Seasons. Rise and Drift are constantly confused and are completely different. This one is the sweet spiced gourmand: heavy, loud, for cold evenings. Seasons Drift is a fresh citrus-woody of lemon, grapefruit and cedar — light, quiet, genuinely office-safe. Nor is “Seasons” a real collection: no Riiffs site has a Seasons category page, and Riiffs’ UK navigation has exactly four collection nodes — Perfume for Men, Perfume for Women, Unisex Perfume and Privé Perfume. Privé is a genuine sub-range; Seasons is not. The naming is unstable too — UAE site Seasons Rise, UK site Season Rise, Parfumo plain “Rise”. We use the plural.
The Scent Profile
Top — orange blossom, pink pepper, nutmeg, orris. The orange blossom is not the honeyed, indolic neroli of a classic white floral; it is thin and bright, a lift, and it goes quickly. Pink pepper adds fizz rather than heat. Nutmeg is the first sign of where this is going, a warm brown spice that reads autumnal within minutes. Orris brings a cool, powdery, faintly root-vegetable texture that stops the opening being purely sweet. The phase is short: fifteen to twenty minutes and the top has burnt off. Come back an hour later and you will never meet it.
Heart — clary sage, cinnamon, caramel, toffee. This is the fragrance. Cinnamon and caramel are well-worn in Arabian-house gourmands, but the balance is better than most: the cinnamon is sweet cassia rather than the hot red-sweets type, and it sits inside the caramel rather than on top. Toffee deepens the sugar and adds a burnt, bitter backbone. Clary sage is why this does not collapse — herbaceous, faintly tobacco-like, cutting across the sugar so the whole reads as perfume rather than food. The heart carries the projecting life, minute twenty to hour three, and it is unapologetically sweet. If you dislike sweet fragrances, no phase of this suits you.
Base — vanilla bean, cashmeran, ambroxan, praline, amber. Praline and vanilla bean carry the sweetness down, but cashmeran and ambroxan do the work — cashmeran for a warm, musky, slightly synthetic wood-and-skin effect, ambroxan for reach and a dry mineral-ambergris hum. Amber rounds it off. This base is not sophisticated and is not trying to be: it is the high-impact amber-gourmand accord that has become the Dubai flanker default. It is durable — still legible on skin at eight hours, still obvious on a jumper a week later. The honest criticism is that it is generic; the individuality of Seasons Rise lives in the heart, not here.
Is There a Seasons Rise Dupe Claim?
No. None exists, and we looked properly. Riiffs makes no inspired-by claim, no UK stockist attaches a reference fragrance, and no reviewer we could find has named a designer comparison. Most Dubai flankers arrive with a “smells like” attached, so we treat the absence as a point in this one’s favour.
Be sceptical, then, of any listing that does attach a designer name: there is no source for it, and it was invented for the sale. Riiffs Parfums is an independent Dubai fragrance house with no affiliation to, licence from, or endorsement by any designer brand, and none is named here because none has any connection to this bottle.
Riiffs Seasons Rise Performance & When To Wear
Unusually for a Riiffs flanker, there is real aggregate voting data here. Longevity scores 77 out of 100, classified “Long Lasting”, from 52 votes: Eternal 6, Long Lasting 32, Moderate 14, Weak 0, Very Weak 0. Not one voter in 52 called it weak. Sillage scores 68 out of 100, “Strong”, from 46 votes: Enormous 3, Strong 29, Moderate 13, Intimate 1. Sentiment from 60 votes: Love 44, Like 14, Neutral 1, Dislike 0, Hate 1. Forty-four out of sixty choosing the top option is a warm reception for a £30 bottle from a house that publishes template copy.
Retailer marketing claims 8 to 10 hours (Emirates Oud) and “lasts all day” (Royal Oud Leicester). We regularly point out that retailer longevity claims are inflated; these ones match what wearers report. Our own testing agrees: 8 to 10 hours on skin, strong projection for three hours, and a scarf sprayed once still obviously scented a week later.
Wear it in autumn and winter, in the evening, in cold air: sweet spiced ambers need cold to behave, and heat pushes the caramel and praline into something cloying. Not the office, unless you are disciplined about spraying once — at two sprays this fills a room. Not a small restaurant, a long-haul flight or a summer afternoon either. Buy it knowing it is loud; that is the point of it, not a flaw to be argued away.
Who It’s For & Styling
Seasons Rise is for someone who already likes sweet fragrances and wants a cold-weather one that carries. If your rotation includes caramel, praline or vanilla-forward gourmands, this slots in and outperforms most of them at the price. It is not a gentle introduction to gourmands — it goes in hard.
The gender situation is a mess. Riiffs files Seasons Rise under Women in the UAE, Unisex on its UK site while tagging it “Men’s Eau De Parfum”, and Masculine in the US and India; Amazon US markets it as “Men’s Long Lasting Perfume”. Four answers from one brand about one bottle. The community is not confused: 42 voters split Men 31, Unisex 9, Women 2 — masculine by better than seven to one. We list it as unisex leaning masculine because that is what the wearers say, and it is the cleanest example we have of why Riiffs’ own tagging cannot be relied on.
One styling tip. Spray it on clothing rather than skin if you want the sweetness dialled back: on fabric the caramel and toffee sit flatter and the cashmeran-ambroxan drydown comes forward, which reads drier. One spray on a collar and one on a jumper is plenty for an evening.
Across the range: for the same sweet-spiced direction, Momento at £29.99 adds saffron, rose and oud; Zenith at £29.99 goes towards coconut, rum and vanilla. Elyssia Aura at £29.99 is the closest cousin — cinnamon, cognac, cocoa and vanilla, the same architecture with a boozier top. If you want something fresh instead, the sibling Seasons Drift at £29.99 — lemon, grapefruit, cedar, amber — shares nothing with this bottle but the name.
Price, Size & What You Get
The UK picture in August 2026: Emirates Oud list it at £24.99 but marked “Coming Soon”, Freshity at £29.99 and sold out, Royal Oud Leicester at £29.99 and out of stock, House of Pleiadians at £29.99, and Riiffs’ own UK site at £32.99 reduced from £40.00. Ours is £29.99, the modal price and £3 under the brand’s own site. Stock matters more than price here: most UK listings are unavailable, and a headline £24.99 on a “Coming Soon” page is not a price you can pay.
Seasons Rise comes in 100ml only; there is no factory 50ml or travel size, so any smaller bottle is a reseller’s decant. At 30p per millilitre and eight to ten hours a wearing, the cost-per-wear is low. On concentration we follow UK convention and list it as Eau de Parfum, for the reasons in the FAQs.
Seasons Rise in the Riiffs Perfumes UK Range
Riiffs’ catalogue runs to 118 fragrances on Parfumo, much of it fresh, light or aquatic. Seasons Rise sits at the opposite pole: one of the house’s heavier gourmands, belonging next to Momento, Zenith and Elyssia Aura rather than near Freeze or Costa de Amalfi. On the sentiment data it fills that cold-weather, high-projection, sweet-spiced slot better than most of the house’s attempts at the same brief.
It is a reasonable first Riiffs for someone who already knows they like sweet fragrances: £29.99, eight to ten hours, a strongly positive reception. Why don’t you use Riiffs’ own note list?
Because Riiffs publishes the same one for two different fragrances. Its UAE pyramid for Seasons Rise — bergamot, saffron, orange, candy over jasmine, violet, blackcurrant over amber, moss, cashmeran, musk — is byte-identical to the Seasons Drift one, as is the description, which begins “A timeless and elegant scent that captures the essence of blooming flowers”. Two fragrances cannot have identical pyramids, so that is template filler and we reject it for both. Riiffs’ UK site publishes no pyramid and reuses one sentence about “oriental and woody notes” across Zenith, Freeze, Spectra Surge and both Seasons products. Its US and India sites call both “hibiscus, vanilla, amber made form the best”, typo and all, and hibiscus appears in no pyramid from any source. That leaves the retailers as the more trustworthy source: usually the brand knows best, and here it demonstrably does not.
Is there a Seasons Rise dupe?

Same 100ml bottle, no evidence of two formulations. We list it as Eau de Parfum because that is the UK convention. Given the performance data the label is academic — it lasts eight to ten hours whatever you call it.

7.6 out of 10 from 17 ratings, indexed as “Rise (2025)” — exactly the Riiffs brand average of 7.6 across 118 catalogued fragrances and 1,316 total ratings, so a typical Riiffs rather than a standout. Two caveats. Seventeen ratings is thin, so treat it as directional. And the figure comes from Parfumo’s brand listing, not the product page: Parfumo’s individual Riiffs pages serve scrambled content — wrong canonical URLs, wrong launch years, wrong perfumers, unrelated note lists. Parfumo also drops the “Seasons” prefix, so the mapping to this bottle is probable rather than certain.

Riiffs Parfums is an independent, family-run house in Deira, Dubai, generally reported as founded in 2018.
